Schedule a Ride | Advance Booking Options

A frustrating early-morning experience with Uber left one woman late for a job trial, sparking a debate online about ride-sharing reliability and rider duty.

TikTok creator Jaycee (@jaycee.greennn) shared a video on December 15 documenting her predicament. The clip shows her, visibly prepared for work, still at home as her scheduled shift approaches.

“I hate Uber now, because what do you mean I ordered my Uber at 4:30 and I have a trial shift for a job at 5am and it took 15 minutes to connect me to a driver and how I’m gonna be late,” she says in the video, which has garnered over two million views.

In her caption, Jaycee lamented, “That’s my chance blew. Uber, get it sorted.”

Should She Really Blame Uber for missing Work?

The incident raises questions about the balance between app convenience and dependable service.

Commenters quickly weighed in,with some sympathizing with Jaycee’s frustration over seemingly arbitrary connection and arrival times. Others argued the onus was on her to plan ahead.

“But when I need a few minutes to put my shoes on, he’s actually already outside my house waiting?” one viewer questioned.

“Poor planning,” another stated bluntly. jaycee countered, insisting, “IT’S UBER’S FAULT.”

One user shared a similar experience, recounting a 20-minute wait in freezing temperatures for an Uber, ultimately opting for public transportation. Another pointed out the core issue: “You guys are missing the point. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to even connect to a driver on an app that’s all about quick services.”

Whose Fault Is It That Jaycee Was Late to Work?

Uber offers a scheduling feature allowing riders to book rides up to 30 days in advance,or as little as 30 minutes before thier desired pickup time. The process involves entering a destination, selecting a vehicle type, choosing a date and time, confirming the pickup location, and finalizing the request.

A Reddit user raised a similar concern three years ago on r/uber,asking,”Is it just me or does it take a little over 15 minutes to get connected to a driver?” Several responses suggested driver selectivity plays a role. “The app isn’t acting up; your ride
