The MotoGP World Championship reaches its conclusion this weekend with the final grand prix of the season: the Valencian Community GP. Once again it is up to the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste to decide the world champion of the premier class, with the Italian Francesco Bagnaia and the Spanish Jorge Martín competing.
Bagnaia arrives with a 21-point lead in the general classification with 37 still to be determined (12 for the winner of Saturday’s sprint race, plus 25 for Sunday’s grand prix race). He has everything in his favor, but Martín does not give up and will fight to, at least, sell his defeat dearly.
The Valencian Community GP will also be special for Marc Márquez, who will say goodbye to a lifetime in the Repsol Honda team (eleven years) to begin a new stage as a Gresini Racing driver, riding a Ducati. The man from Cervera will get on his new bike next Monday, although first he hopes to say goodbye in style to his current team.
With the champions already decided, Jaume Masià in Moto3 and Pedro Acosta in Moto2, it will also be time for the two small categories to say goodbye to the course until next year. And be careful, because if Martín wins the MotoGP title there would be a triplet of titles that was already achieved in 2010, 2013 and 2014.
