Starting on Tuesday, September 17, the Implementation of schedules and restrictions for the Entrance and use of parking at USAC. This measure, according to university authorities, initiation in the central campus for optimizing the use of parking spaces.
USAC Parking: Schedules and restrictions announced
Las University authorities announced that are already being implemented new measures to preserve the safety and proper use of parking lots. This measure came into effect validity starting Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Check-in times
Please note the times to enter the university campus in Zone 12 of Guatemala City. If you have a vehicle, you will have a specific time to enter in the morning, while if you are a pedestrian, there will also be times to do so. This is because from now on, people will not be allowed to enter before the time stipulated in the new measures.
As indicated by the University of San Carlos of Guatemalathe requirement to enter during the stipulated hours is that present the university cardwhether a student, employee or professor. The objective of these measures is to preserve the safety of the student community and the proper use of parking spaces. Vehicles without identification will not be allowed to enter.
- From 5:00 am to 6:15 am: Vehicles will be allowed to enter through Petapa Avenue and the Periférico Ring Road.
- From 5:00 am to 6:15 am: Pedestrian entry will not be permitted through any doors.
So, keep in mind that if you are a San Carlos student and you park inside the central campus, you will be asked to show your ID. People who do not show this identification will not be able to enter or benefit from parking.
The reasons for the restrictions
According to the official account of the University of San Carlos of Guatemalathese are due to the fact that they have observed that people outside the San Carlos community benefit from the spaces. This causes the same university students to no longer find available parking spaces.
Likewise, they indicated that they will proceed to report to the corresponding authorities the vehicles that they cannot identify and that are parked so that they can remove with cranes.
