(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 31 – “More resources are definitely needed, which I would like to direct especially to two measures: the hiring of staff, given that in 2025 the spending cap in force for time immemorial will fall, while other resources are needed to deduct 15% of Irpef from the specificity allowance for all healthcare personnel and not just doctors. A relief that is worth almost 200 euros for nurses and that will also serve to make the nursing profession a little more attractive, given that the real shortage of staff is there and that our nurses earn much less than their European colleagues”. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, speaking about healthcare funds in an interview with La Stampa.
Schillaci will speak about the funds with the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti. “I will meet him tomorrow. We are doing the math to arrive at a realistic figure on the cost of these two measures that I consider fundamental both for the battle against waiting lists and for the functioning of our NHS in general”.
For the minister “the tax cut for lower incomes is a valuable commitment already made, other resources for health care must be found a priori. However, I want to say once again that we also need to rationalize, otherwise we risk putting more water into an aqueduct full of leaks that ends up wasting it”. (ANSA).
