After René Benko’s Italian luxury real estate company Signa Prime Selection AG filed for bankruptcy, the Schoeller Group is now taking over part of the real estate.

The German family group Schoeller Group is buying three projects from the insolvent luxury real estate company Signa Prime Selection AG in Italy. Signa Prime, founded by Austrian investor René Benko, announced on Friday that the contracts were signed in Vienna. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The Hotel Bauer in Venice was sold. The luxury hostel on the Grand Canal is currently being renovated. In Bolzano, the Schoeller Group is taking over the WaltherPark urban district, which is under construction, as well as the Viva Virgolo development project, which is intended to develop Bozen’s local mountain, the Virgl.

German real estate is also to be sold

The Schoeller Group in Pullach, Bavaria, includes the company Schoeller Allibert, which claims to be the world market leader in plastic containers for industry, transport and trade.

In the wake of the insolvencies within the real estate and trading group Signa, the portfolio in Germany is also to be sold, including the Elbtower under construction in Hamburg and buildings belonging to the department store group Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. The property of the Berlin luxury department store KaDeWe has already gone to the Thai Central Group. The group also has a stake in the KaDeWe trading company and would also like to take over this completely.
