Berlin Olaf Scholz (SPD) was already a friend of the so-called supply requirement when he was Federal Minister of Finance. The fact that it found its way into the relevant reports of the National Platform for the Future of Mobility (NPM) can also be traced back to today’s Chancellor.
Now Scholz is putting pressure on this matter again. According to information from the mineral oil industry and from government circles, the Chancellery requires that at least one fast charging point (power from 150 kilowatts) be set up at every filling station by the end of 2027.
The government center has commissioned the Ministry of Transport to implement this tightening of the coverage requirement. The house of Volker Wissing (FDP) should approach all stakeholders in the next few weeks to start the consultation process.
