A protest was held in Chennai Otteri condemning the attack on a bus driver by school children and stopping city buses across the road.
When the 29 A bus went from Anna Square to Perambur, some students from a school in Purasaivakkam got on it and came to stand on the steps. The driver told them to come inside as more rhythm came along.
This has led to an argument between him and the students. The students then attacked the driver, threw stones at him and fled. The bus driver and conductor were involved in a road blockade demanding action against the school students. Drivers and operators of some more city buses went on strike in support of them.
