School canteens: the results of the Presidential Initiative presented to the Head of State
(Ouagadougou, May 22, 2023). The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE received in audience this Monday morning the Permanent Secretary of the Presidential Initiative “to ensure each child of school age at least one balanced meal per day”, Dr Alice SIDIBE/ANAGO.
According to her, it is her duty to come and present the Presidential Initiative to the Head of State, in a process of accountability, to explain to him what has been done “and above all to ask for his support, his accompaniment, the orientations that he would like to give to the Permanent Secretariat in order to continue the mission entrusted to us”.
The Permanent Secretary of the Presidential Initiative indicated her satisfaction at the end of the exchanges with the Head of State, who reiterated his desire to see local production favored in the supply of school canteens. “We received his guidance, his support and better still, we are very delighted with the advice he gave us. In this process, he will put in place a system at the level of his office to support the Permanent Secretariat in carrying out the mission entrusted to it”, added Dr Alice SIDIBE/ANAGO.
She welcomed the commitment of the Head of State to invest in education and his stated desire to inculcate in children, at the base, the spirit of patriotism and the culture of “consuming Burkinabè”.
