The Versailles rectorate is the target of death threats. Several members of the academy received emails in their professional inbox or messages on social networks, we learned this Thursday. Threats accompanied by insults following the suicide of young Nicolas, 15, on September 5 in Poissy (Yvelines). The head of the interacademic legal affairs department of the Versailles rectorate filed a complaint early Wednesday afternoon.

Information confirmed to Le Parisien by the Versailles public prosecutor’s office, which immediately reacted: “An investigation was opened into counts of cyber harassment online and in packs, provocation to commit a crime, public insults of a sexist nature, death threats materialized by writing. »

Two other complaints were filed without the prosecution specifying the identity of the complainants. The investigation was entrusted to the regional direction of the judicial police of Versailles.

Directly linked to the suicide of Nicolas in Poissy

This outpouring of hatred and threats towards the Versailles academy is closely linked to the institution’s treatment of the case of Nicolas, who was the victim of school harassment at the Adrienne-Bolland high school in Poissy. An establishment that he had decided to leave to begin professional training in electricity this year in a high school in the 14th arrondissement in Paris. He finally hanged himself in his room the first week of school.

Despite their calls for help and the mobilization of their parents, the family received a letter last May from the Versailles rectorate which, instead of supporting the complainant, had minimized the facts by speaking of “supposed harassment” and threatened the parents of slanderous denunciation.

Made public on Saturday September 16, the letter caused an outcry and was described as a “disgrace” by the Minister of National Education, Gabriel Attal. Which immediately summoned the academy rectors to cause “an electric shock at all levels” against school harassment. “My role, your role, is not to protect an institution at all costs, but to protect our students, our children at all costs,” he addressed them.

Questioned on Wednesday by Le Parisien, a mother of a student harassed last year in Yvelines argues that, when parents report a context of harassment, “the threat of defamation is almost systematically brandished”.
