Live classes in schools have been canceled until January 31 due to the corona and students are being taught lessons through online classes as if they were back home. In this situation, it is expected that the first schools will open on February 1 and direct classes will be conducted only for Class X and Plus 2 students who are awaiting the general examination in a few more months.
However, the Tamil Nadu government had announced yesterday that the schools would be open on February 1 for all students from 1-12. Kindergarten and nursery schools continue to be banned. When will the schools open, rather than the students, by this announcement of the government? When will their children get a full education? The parents of the school students who were expecting that were very happy.
‘Schools are to be opened in Tamil Nadu from February 1 to class 1-12. But students are not forced to come to school because of fears about the corona. School classes for them can be conducted live or online. It is up to the respective school administration to decide how to conduct the classes. The school administration must ensure that students attending live classes follow corona safety guidelines, the school’s education department said in a statement.
The government has announced that schools will be open to all classes from February 1 and that it is up to the school administrations to decide whether to conduct live classes for students or take classes online. School administrations are thus being pressured on how to deal with the consequences if schools are reopened and students are exposed to corona.
As well as the government announcing that students will not be required to attend school even if the schools are open, school administrations have been forced to force students to come to school live classes in view of the year-end exams to be held in a few more months. Therefore, there is a demand from many quarters that the government should issue a clear notice regarding the opening of the school.
