The Head of State relaunched the proposal to shorten the summer school holidays. An idea that is debated by parents of students as well as by tourism professionals.
In a few days, the school year will be over. If the students are impatient, the parents are too, in a hurry for some to take advantage of two months of leave. But should the summer holidays be reduced to reduce the learning days? The debate is revived by the Head of State. The parents of pupils met agree that there should be fewer holidays, but on the condition of rethinking school timetables.

The prospect of reduced vacations in the summer does not delight tourism professionals. At the moment, the Saint-Cyr Siri lake domain campsite (Vienne) mainly welcomes retirees. But families represent the bulk of the activity during the two summer months. The summer holidays should not be modified in 2024 because, for the moment, the Head of State has not indicated either a consultation method or a timetable for this major educational upheaval.
