“Changes are associated with the peculiarities of the course of the disease when infected with the Omicron strain, which is similar to the course of SARS. This criterion for withdrawing to distance learning with 20% or more sick children in the team has been successfully used and is being used for ARVI and influenza both in Soviet times and in the Russian Federation, ”the department explained.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor updated the sanitary and epidemiological rules for the prevention of coronavirus. In particular, the mandatory isolation for citizens who have been in contact with patients with COVID-19 is cancelled. After that, from February 7-8, the Moscow authorities canceled quarantine for school classes and groups in kindergartens, which was previously prescribed for one of the children with coronavirus.

In Russia, 177,282 cases of coronavirus infection were registered over the past day. This is 5.4% more than the day before (168,201), and the maximum since the beginning of the pandemic.
