Scientists using the Zhurong rover have discovered new evidence of the existence of wind and water on Mars.

Research by a team of international scientists from China, Germany and Canada has been published in the journal Nature Geoscience, using the Zhurong rover to discover new evidence of wind and water on Mars.

It is specified that the rover arrived on Mars in May last year. On the planet, he managed to drive about 450 meters in the region of the Utopia plain, located in the northern hemisphere of Mars. According to experts, this place was previously filled with water.

The data obtained by scientists from the Zhurong cameras showed that part of the plain is flat, there are few stones on it. An analysis of the stones showed that small carved lines formed on them from the impact of the wind. In some cases, experts were able to detect traces of water erosion.

Among other things, ripples were seen on the surface of Mars, reminiscent of sand dunes on Earth. Most likely it was formed due to the wind. According to scientists, the wind on Mars no longer exists.
