Scooter Mourns the Sudden Loss of Longtime Crew Member Seb During Swiss Tour

With “Hyper Hyper,” Scooter achieved a mega-hit in 1994 that made the musicians famous worldwide. After 30 years and around 30 million records sold, founding member H.P. Baxxter still performs on stage with new bandmates. Since mid-May, he has primarily been appearing at festivals across Europe alongside Jay Frog and Marc Blou.

In the midst of the ongoing tour, the techno trio now has to cope with a heavy loss: a longtime crew member of Scooter has died. “Unfortunately, we have sad news,” says a statement shared by the band on their official Instagram account. “Some of you may have already heard at the Seaside and Summerdays Festival that a tragic incident occurred within our crew,” Scooter writes.

The tragedy occurred on the way to Spiez BE. This was reported by Nau.ch. According to Seaside chief Philippe Cornu, the band’s crew arrived in the Bernese Oberland by nightliner bus in the morning.

“There, they had to find that their colleague had died in his sleep,” Cornu said.

“We are shocked, shaken, and deeply affected”

“Suddenly and completely unexpectedly, our great backliner Seb was taken from us. Our crew and we are shocked, shaken, and deeply affected,” the musicians stated and expressed their condolences to the deceased’s relatives. They also posted a picture of one of their recent performances in their story, where they remember their crew member. “Thank you Seb. We love you. Rest in peace” can be read on the screen behind the stage.

Below, the birth and death dates of the backliner are shown. According to this, Seb died last Friday, August 30, at the age of only 40. Details of the cause of death are not mentioned, but “to prevent such incidents,” Scooter refers in the post to the organization “Heart Foundation.”

This suggests that Seb died from the consequences of a cardiovascular disease. “Seb, we will carry you in our hearts,” ends Scooter the sad post and appeals to fans: “Take care of yourselves!”

For most people in Switzerland, diversity is the essence of our country. In reality, however, most people mingle with others who are similar to them. A comprehensive study published on Monday shows that there is a lack of mixing.

Switzerland is diverse in many ways: abroad, our country prides itself on its federalism and its four national languages. The Confederation counts 26 cantons and has a long migration history. Still, the question arises whether this diversity is lived by the residents in their everyday lives. Are we really as diverse as our country itself? A comprehensive study by the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (GDI) commissioned by Migros Culture Percentage, published on Monday morning, attempts to answer this question.
