The Scorpions’ German concerts were supposed to start on September 11th. But now fans of the band are disappointed: all shows have been postponed.

As part of their “Love At First Sting Tour 2024”, the Scorpions were also supposed to come to Germany. Five concerts were planned: On September 11, the rock band was supposed to be on stage in Nuremberg, followed by performances in Hamburg, Leipzig, Cologne and Frankfurt. But all shows have been cancelled.

As “Bild” reports, a fall down the stairs is responsible for the change of plans. Guitarist Matthias Jabs fell down the stairs last Thursday. The 68-year-old broke the heel and little finger of his left hand. After an operation, he will not be able to perform until at least October.

The industry magazine “Metal Hammer” has received a statement from the Scorpions: “We deeply regret, especially Matthias Jabs, that due to the accident of our friend and Scorpions lead guitarist, the five concerts of our Germany tour cannot take place as planned in September and in close cooperation with the tour organizer we will announce new information as soon as possible.” The musicians also ask their fans for their understanding. More than 40,000 tickets have been sold for the Germany tour. Ticket holders should receive further information directly from their point of sale shortly.

It’s not without reason that the tour is called “Love At First Sting” – that’s also the title of the Scorpions’ ninth studio album. “We’re going to present our fans in Germany with our brand new show: We’re celebrating 40 years of ‘Love At First Sting’,” singer Klaus Meine said in advance. The album was released in 1984 and includes some of the band’s most famous hits, including songs like “Still Loving You” and “Rock You Like A Hurricane.”
