‘Screamed for help under the wheels’: A Gentile ran over an elderly ultra-orthodox – and brutally dragged him

by time news

Crown Heights, Brooklyn: Last Friday, an elderly Chabad Chasid who was walking in a crosswalk was run over by a Gentile who drove his car past him.

The incident happened at the intersection of Albany and Union avenues, while the Hasid was heading to the evening prayer in the synagogue. The offending driver ‘entered’ the elderly man with force, dragging him under his wheels.

Passers-by who watched the incident with anxiety and called the police to the scene – told the police that “the unfortunate man is calling for help under the wheels” – but the gentile continued to drive with unparalleled cruelty and hatred.

Police officers who were called to the scene and investigated the incident said that “apparently this is a criminal who hurt the victim with the first intention”. The incident is still being investigated by the New York police, and at the same time the suspicion of an anti-Semitic attack is being investigated.
