The award-winning documentary by Yiannis Spiliopoulos “Stone and Time. The Xerolithies of Kythnos” will be shown to Asprangelos by the Asprangelos Cultural Association tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9.15 in the evening.

The public will travel from the dry rock of Zagori to the Aegean dry rock of Kythnos! Two places quite far away, but united by the stone and the common thoughts for the promotion of an art, which has been included in the intangible cultural heritage of Greece and UNESCO.
Before the screening of the documentary, the work of the Europa Nostra award-winning group “To Bulouki”, an interdisciplinary collective, which deals with the study of traditional building materials and techniques, will be presented. Bulouki has worked mainly in the mountainous regions of Epirus, where important artisans lived and worked, but where various cultures of the Balkans were intertwined.
Drystone art was inscribed in 2015 on the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage and in 2018 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO).
