Iva Hadjieva, a sculptor whose name has been associated with the Bulgarian puppet theater since 1957, has left us, reports the Union of Bulgarian Artists (SBH).

They inform that the pilgrimage will take place on August 31 at 1:00 p.m., in the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary (behind the Rodina Hotel).

Iva Hadjieva was born in Gabrovo in the family of industrialist Boris Hadjiev. She graduated from the Aprilov High School, attended a painting class together with Hristo Yavashev, with whom she had a childhood friendship. In 1957 he graduated in sculpture at the Art Academy in the studio of Prof. Mihail Kats. The same year, for her sculptural composition “Pomakini”, she was awarded a silver medal at the International Youth Exhibition in Moscow; she married the artist Dimitar Arnaudov.

From 1958 he worked in the Central Puppet Theater as an artist-sculptor, later – also in VITIZ. Although she has already established herself permanently in the field of puppet theater art, she also performs as a sculptor. He received a number of awards and recognition for his work in both fields. He arranged his first solo exhibition only in 2020 in the “Sofia Press” gallery-bookstore, in which he presented original drawings, sculptures, dolls and scenographic solutions for numerous theater productions, recalled by the SBH.
