Canberra: Pakistani-origin Australian YouTuber Harris Sultan has accused an Indian man of tampering with his YouTube channel. Harris says his Indian video editor changed the name of his YouTube channel to Scumbag Beggar. Harris had hired the Indian-origin man to edit his videos but he started messing up and demanding more money. When he refused to pay more, he changed his YouTube handle name.
According to India Today’s report, Harris Sultan, who lives in Australia, is a very famous YouTuber. He is known for making videos criticizing Islam on his channel named Harris Sultan Atheist. In one of his posts on social media, he wrote, ‘I hired a cheap video editor from India. He cheated me for money and when I refused to pay, he changed the name of the YouTube channel.
YouTube asked for time to change the name
In his post on X, Harris tagged YouTube support and told what kind of problem he is facing. He said that YouTube is telling me that I have to wait for 14 days before changing the name back again. Now do I have to live with this name for two weeks? On Sultan’s post, YouTube said that we understand your frustration and are working on it.
Harris Sultan has also shared the screenshot of the payment made to the video editor while abusing him. Harris has received mixed reactions on this post. Some users objected to the use of the word ‘beggar’ for Harris Sultan. This has been considered a sarcasm on Harris being of Pakistani origin. Some users questioned him for targeting Indians for the work of a person.
Haris Sultan had revealed some time ago that he was receiving death threats due to his critical attitude towards Islam. Sultan moved to Australia from Lahore at the age of 19. He wrote the book ‘The Curse of God – Why I Left Islam’, which was released in 2018.
