Thoothukudi: The incident where a petrol punk employee was attacked with a scythe and robbed of money near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district has caused a stir.

Kandasamy hails from Kalugumalai near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district. His petrol and diesel filling station is located on the Kalugumalai-Sankarankoil road. Anguraj and staff from Kalugumalai were working as usual in this role last night.
Young people on a Pulsar bike
Anguraj was the only person to refill the vehicles with petrol and diesel while the other staff went to eat dinner later. Then 3 young men came on a Pulsar bike in red. They have refueled their vehicle. They left because there were some other customers there then.
Scissors attack and money laundering
After a while they came back confirming that there were no people in the petrol stock. One of the youths took the scythe he had hidden and attacked Anguraj, a petrol punk employee. Meanwhile another young man took the wallet that was there. Anguraj was seriously injured in the scythe attack. The youths then flew away with the money and bike.
Police looking for the culprits
Unable to bear the pain Anguraj heard screams and other staff came. Anguraj was later admitted to Kalugumalai Government Hospital and is receiving treatment. He reported the matter to petrol punk owner Kandasamy and lodged a complaint with the police. Kalugumalai police are investigating. They are also examining the CCTV footage of the petrol station and are looking for 3 youths who escaped.
