Sean Williams scores a century in the first ODI .. Zimbabwe set a tough target for Sri Lanka

Batting first in the first ODI against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe scored 296 runs in 50 overs and set a challenging target of 297 for Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe have left for Sri Lanka to play in a three-match ODI series. The first ODI is going on today. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat first.

Zimbabwe openers Kaifano and Chakabwa both made excellent starts. They added 80 runs for the first wicket. Kaifano was bowled out for 42. Captain Erwin, who came in 3rd, was dismissed for just 9 runs. Chakabwa, the opening batsman to score a superb Audi fifty, was dismissed for 72.

Sean Williams, who landed in the 4th row, anchored at one end and batted profusely, while at the other end the other players were constantly out at regular intervals. Zimbabwe set a challenging target of 297 for Sri Lanka with Sean Williams scoring 296 runs in 50 overs.
