Search for pensionable heirs of deceased | Dinamalar

40 thousand people are getting pension in Madurai district. They have to participate in ‘mustering’ interview once a year and submit lifetime proof to renew their registration.

Interviews were held from July to September last year. More than 39 thousand people have updated it. Fewer than a thousand have yet to renew. Interviews have not been held for the past 2 years due to the corona virus. Some may have died from the disease. So they may not come.

And some may not come without awareness. Officials who believe that some of the heirs may be receiving the money for them, are engaged in intensive search to find it. Many people could not be contacted through letters and phone calls.

Now they have decided to inquire about the death certificate of parents through Aadhaar number and some people come to get ration items there.

Pension continues to go to the accounts of all those registered. If there are those who have not taken their pension for the last one year, steps have been taken to get that money back.

It is an offense to receive money without knowingly giving details of the deceased. Legal action will be taken to recover the money from them.
