Employees of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Primorsky Territory are conducting searches in the house of the former mayor of Vladivostok Oleg Gumenyuk, TASS reports, citing the words of the official representative of the department Aurora Rimskaya.

At the same time, the Investigative Committee has not yet specified which investigation the searches are related to. But according to the source of the agency, we can talk about a criminal case on taking a bribe, which was initiated against an official of the municipal budgetary institution of Vladivostok “Necropolis”. Gumenyuk passes as a witness.

Let’s remind that last Thursday the deputies of the Vladivostok Duma at the next meeting prematurely terminated the powers of the mayor Oleg Gumenyuk, who had previously resigned. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, who was in Primorye on a working visit, supported the governor of the region, Oleg Kozhemyako, who said that the mayor of Vladivostok should be invited to leave.

Among the claims made by the governor, there is the poor use of funds from the Far Eastern Unified Subsidy, thanks to which parking lots are being built, the Avangard stadium is being reconstructed, and the facades of houses are being renewed.
