The former professor of the Military Lyceum, Sebastián Mauvezín, defended himself against what is said about him, both in judicial circles and in the press (and in what has become public opinion), in a message sent to his former students, with whom he no longer has contact for having been removed from office by order of the Minister of National Defense, Javier García

As published by the newspaper El Observador this Tuesday, on June 10, at 10:12 p.m., Mauvezín sent a message through the Crea platform, which the teachers of the Military Lyceum use to communicate with their students. He should not have used it because he is no longer on the payroll, and because no person outside the institution should have contact with the students and other educators. The director of the Military High School, Colonel Gustavo Etchandy, commented that Plan Ceibal (the platform on which Crea runs) has already been requested to urgently eliminate the Mauvezín user.

The Prosecutor’s Office handling the case of the senator for the National Party, Gustavo Penadés (now resigned from that political force) says that Mauvezín would have served as a kind of “recruiter” of minors who were allegedly made available to Penadés. The latter is accused by at least eight people formally for crimes of sexual abuse of minors and pedophilia.

Sebastián Mauvezín’s messages to his former students

“I will show that I am being a victim and the object of a campaign of LIES and CALUMNY whose ultimate goal is to destroy my person,” Mauvezin wrote in a message he sent to those who had been his students until a few days ago.

Mauvezín thanked the students who were in his courses for “understanding” and “sensibleness” and said that he will fight to prove his innocence: “No matter how hard the road may be, we will fight that battle.” In another passage he wrote: “Resist, insist, but NEVER give up.” The original message includes such words in capital letters.

“We will be tempted to look back, but I will keep walking. And wherever the walk stops in a last dawn, if I deserve it, I will search in silence for his illuminated faces in the midst of a soft winged multitude ”, she continued in his unexpected farewell.

Other messages sent through this platform, by the educator, raised doubts among parents. In a survey sent at the beginning of the current school year, he asked: “If you take the bus, which line do you take to go to high school?” The uncomfortable questions were addressed and discussed in a meeting with the parents and guardians of the minors, but they are not outside the rules of the institution. Etchandy explained to The Observer that teachers are encouraged to carry out this type of questionnaire to get to know their students better, although each one chooses the questions.
