The Colombian cyclist Juan Sebastián Molano had an outstanding participation in the ninth stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024 by finishing in third place in a very close sprint. In this stage, which culminated in the city of Naples in the south of the Italian peninsula, the winner was the cyclist Olav Kooij of Team Visma Lease a Bike.

Molano, a member of the UAE Emirates Team led by the Slovenian Tadej Pogačar, received a strategic throw from his teammate 200 meters from the finish line, however, he could not overcome his opponents before crossing the finish line.
After the stage, Molano shared his impressions: «We took the last corner in a good position, but we lacked a little legs for the final sprint. We go to the day of rest calmly. “Tadej is still the leader of the general classification.”

Second place in this stage went to the Italian Jonathan Milan of the North American Lidi-Trek team, thus completing the podium of a day full of emotions and competition in the Giro d’Italia.
