Sebastian Ofner suffered a bitter defeat
Sebastian Ofner narrowly missed his first win of the season on clay on Tuesday. The world number 38. lost to the Argentinian Federico Coria in the first round of the ATP 250 tournament in Buenos Aires with 5:7, 6:4 and 5:7.
Ofner, who was clearly inferior to eventual tournament winner Luciano Darderi in Cordoba the previous week, found numerous opportunities against Coria. Among other things, the Austrian number one lost a break lead in the first set, and in the decisive section Ofner was unable to keep out the match when the score was 5:4.
While Coria will face second-seeded Cameron Norrie in the round of 16, Ofner will continue next week at the ATP 500 tournament in Rio de Janeiro.
