Serious allegations against a former youth coach of second division club SSV Jahn Regensburg. Charges have been brought.
According to a report in the “Mittelbayerische Zeitung” (MZ), a former youth coach of second division club SSV Jahn Regensburg has to go to court on charges of sexual abuse of children. He is said to have secretly filmed 13 youth players in the shower. Regensburg parted ways with him after the allegations came to light.
According to “MZ”, the former Regensburg youth coach is being investigated for more than 30 cases of sexual abuse, production of child pornography and violation of intimate areas through photographs. The proceedings were initiated because a US service reportedly provided a tip-off. This was reportedly related to an anonymous chat platform.
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) is said to have then determined the IP address of the suspect, who is said to have encouraged 20 children to perform sexual acts in front of the camera. According to “MZ”, investigators found hours of video footage on the suspect in November 2022. According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, cybercrime investigators from Bamberg are said to have taken over the case first, and now the Amberg public prosecutor’s office (both places are in Bavaria) has brought charges.
The children’s parents are said to have learned of the suspicion from the investigators. Johannes Liedl, spokesman for Jahn Regensburg, said of the case: “The moment SSV Jahn first learned of the allegations from the investigating authorities, the youth coach was immediately relieved of his duties and separated from the team and its environment.”
