Since 2021, this startup has been putting lockers in cities, with sports equipment to borrow free of charge, provided by the Decathlon brand.
To use, download the Equip Sport app, enter your mobile number and take a photo of the app. The lessons last 1 hour. In total, there are 250 lockers in around fifty areas in 8 European countries: basketball, mölkky games, tennis rackets… loans vary depending on the situation. } Donate or recycle
What to do with the youngest soccer balls, which have only been used three times? Or the fitness mat worn, forgotten at the bottom of the cellar … To prevent sports and leisure equipment from being thrown away and give it a second life, the eco-organisation “Ecologic” offers on site soak interactive map allowing you to identify specific collection points near your home. Either so that the item can be recycled (if it is in bad condition), or so that it can be reused. A smart and environmentally friendly way to get rid of skateboards, ping-pong balls or tennis rackets that you no longer use.
► “No waste” exercise
A sporting event of 5,000 people can produce up to… 2.5 of waste! Great figures, especially because more than 2 million events are organized each year in France… To go to “zero waste”, the group “Waste River” have put together a very useful little guide of 12 actions to put in place.
Refreshments and food places, sports equipment, equipment and communication: all topics are covered in an educational way. The result also shows the benefits received by the units, large or moderate, which have entered the process. Something to start!
