Pamela Ati’s father denounced false information
In the middle of the wake, the young woman’s father reported that, initially, the commander of Fort Napo had falsely informed him that his daughter had drowned after consuming alcohol.
“The commander gave us information, he said she had drowned in alcohol, a lie, she was murdered, assaulted and allegedly raped, where are we? Which soldiers are we with? If they are killing our daughters,” she said.
According to the victim’s mother, the incident occurred before a party to say goodbye to a non-commissioned officer. The celebration was held inside the barracks, “but it did not have the relevant authorization,” she said. After 10:00, the coffin with Pamela’s body was taken to the outside of the family home for a final symbolic farewell. After a few minutes, those present moved to the Santa Rosa cemetery, where Pamela Ati was buried.
