Preventive actions will be completed to improve the ground conditions under the platform of the railings
Adif has already started the works of the second phase of preventive actions on the railway platform in Zuera, in Zaragoza. With an investment of more than 14 million euros, they consist of preparing the land on the Huesca branch of the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona high-speed line.

The actions, which continue those carried out last summer, include works to improve the ground under the track platform, with the aim of increasing its consolidation, increasing the load-bearing capacity of the ground, and avoiding future effects on the railway infrastructure.
Between June and July, mortar injections are being carried out at night on the outside of the track, in two sections, along 1.3 kilometers. Three drilling and injection teams work simultaneously on these tasks, which are they will be reinforced up to a total of five.
Lift off your superstructure
In August, the main phase will be addressed, with the following actions:
• Completion of the injections in the field (10.6 kilometers with the use of 1,332.4 cubic meters of mortar).
• Raising of the superstructure of 2.4 kilometers of conventional track and 2.2 kilometers of standard track for the placement of 42,000 square meters of geomat, with a view to better controlling soil erosion.
•Construction of 2.4 kilometers of new concrete conduit for the communications cabling of the conventional gauge track.
•Execution of a new 290-meter ditch and a 14-meter downspout between the tracks of the two gauges, as well as the construction of 65-meter deep drainage at one end of the viaduct over the Gllego River.
The operations that will be carried out on the railway platform are incompatible with the maintenance of circulation, so Adif, in coordination with Renfe, has planned an alternative transport plan in the Villanueva de Gllego-Zuera-Almudvar section to guarantee the mobility of passengers, between August 1 and 31, on the Zaragoza-Huesca and Zaragoza-Lrida lines.
