jpnn.comBANDUNG REGENCY – A multi-storey house located on Jalan Sampora, Kampung Cilisung, RT 01 RW 16, Sukamenak Village, Margahayu District, Bandung Regency collapsed into rubble on Tuesday (6/8/2024).
The incident of the three-story building collapsing was recorded by a resident’s cellphone camera and went viral on social media.
In the video uploaded on social media, a collapsed house was shown, and local residents witnessed the collapse of the building firsthand.
Head of the Rescue Division of the Bandung Regency Fire Department (Disdamkar), Supardi, said the house collapsed at 16.00 WIB.
The house consists of three floors, and stands among a densely populated settlement.
“The cause itself is likely a problem with the house’s construction,” said Supardi at the scene.
Currently, his party is evacuating the collapsed building materials and causing the road right in front of the house to be impassable.
Supardi said that Disdamkar had contacted PUTR to immediately send heavy equipment to evacuate the remaining material.
