Defense Secretary Benny Gantz spoke tonight (Friday) with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. The Secretary of Defense thanked the Secretary of Defense for approving Israel’s aid of $ 4.8 billion, including the addition to Iron Dome interceptors as agreed at their meeting about a year ago in Washington.
The two discussed the details of the emerging nuclear agreement and Israel’s position on its components. The defense minister told the defense secretary that it is of particular importance at this time to tighten coordination and cooperation between the countries and other countries in the region in the face of Iranian aggression.
Regarding the crisis in Ukraine, Defense Minister Gantz emphasized Israel’s support for the cessation of hostilities, and the efforts of the West and the United States in this regard. The Minister of Defense also emphasized the efforts made by Israel and the Prime Minister in an attempt to bring about a ceasefire, as well as in the context of humanitarian aid to refugees.
