“This Parliament will comply with the provisions of the Constitution and the Law, and will call for the inauguration of lawyer Godoy in his time, and not in the time that the Government would claim through intimidation.
“A clear and regrettable attempt to interfere in the functions of the State,” responded the Secretary of the Assembly, Alejandro Muñoz, in a statement.
The Secretary General of the National Assembly, Alejandro Muñozreported on the night of this , July 13, 2024, that he has received threats and intimidation from emissaries of the Vice Minister of Government (Esteban Torres) to speed up the possession of lawyer Mario Godoy, as president of the Council of the Judiciary (CJ) appointed on July 11 by the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (Cpccs).
The request for Godoy’s inauguration to be expedited also came from the second vice president of Parliament, Eckenner Recalde, from the ruling National Democratic Action (ADN) movement.
