Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed that sectarian diversity reinforces cohesion within one nation.

The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, this evening, Wednesday, the delegation of the International Council for the Rapprochement of Islamic Sects, and His Excellency, at the beginning of the meeting, blessed the holding of the rapprochement conference in Iraq, Stressing that the Islamic nation has been plagued by intentional and repeated distortion of the message of Muhammad throughout history, which has appeared in different faces in our modern era, and one of these faces is terrorism.
The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, that “the Iraqis fought a fateful battle in defense of land and existence, starting in 2003, and the overthrow of the dictatorial regime, through the battle of terrorism and the arrival of ISIS, and that this difficult stage united all Iraqis, especially after the blessed fatwa of His Eminence the Supreme Authority, Sayyed Al-Sistani.” (May his shadow last).”
He stated that “sectarian diversity reinforces the cohesion within one nation, and that the diversity of these schools in jurisprudence, grammar, interpretation, and Qur’anic readings is a source of pride and a sign of historical richness,” stressing that “the message of rapprochement and strengthening communication is a humanitarian, Islamic, and Muhammadan message par excellence.”
Al-Sudani stressed that “our nation today is being tested to its core by the sinful aggression against Gaza, which exposed the falsity of Western society and which shattered our ideals and principles.”
He pointed out that “the waves of blind terrorism targeted all components of the Iraqi people, and it has nothing to do with the reality of the coexisting and fraternal Iraqi people,” stressing, “We provided convoys of martyrs to liberate the land, and ISIS targeted the region as part of a large project aimed at changing the features of the region, with strong will behind it.” And known forces.”
He continued, “We need to develop a generation of our youth, and all sectors of the Islamic peoples, to deal with sectarian differences as primarily schools of thought,” pointing out that “the sects are originally close to each other, and what unites them today is much greater than what divides them.”
He stated that “the barbaric aggression carried out by the occupation forces is genocide, and there is no parallel at the level of historical events and crimes committed,” stressing that “today, civilians took refuge in the last place in Rafah, and were targeted in a hideous manner.”
He pointed out that “we need unity of position, and all initiatives and condemnations are not at the level of the crime taking place in Gaza,” noting that “the Palestinian issue is fundamental to the conscience of Iraqis, and our martyrs are still in the land of Palestine.”
He went on to say: “Today, our societies are in dire need of moral defense against the attack that exploits the presence of technology.”
