Securing the capital… “Al-Tarabulsi” follows up on the tasks of the Security Measures Committee

Interior Minister Imad Trabelsi discussed with members of the Supreme Committee for Security Measures formed by a decision of the Prime Minister the plan to secure the capital, Tripoli.

According to a post on the ministry’s page, the first meeting discussed the committee’s tasks of supervising the withdrawal and return of all security and military agencies and brigades to their official headquarters, listing all buildings and administrative headquarters under the protection of entities not affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, and working to receive them immediately by the ministry.

The attendees also discussed the possibility of confining private properties that were seized by individuals or entities not affiliated with the ministry and handing them over to their owners, and subjecting land, sea and air ports to the competent authorities.

The attendees discussed the issue of clearing all streets of checkpoints, security checkpoints and security gates of any armed manifestations, with the work being limited to the Ministry of Interior, in addition to confining prisons and subjecting them to the competent authorities in accordance with the applicable legislation.

Al-Tarabulsi had announced the launch of the “Capital of Peace” plan, which consisted of three paths for the deployment of Interior Ministry elements in the capital to protect state institutions.
