“Security Arrangements” takes over several headquarters in central Tripoli

The Supreme Committee for Security Arrangements received a number of headquarters in the central Tripoli municipality.

In the presence of the Minister of Interior, Imad Al-Tarabulsi, the committee received each of (JW Marriott Hotel, Corinthia Hotel, the Old City Project Administration Building “Al-Regia”, Tripoli Sea Port, Al-Mahari Hotel, the Audit Bureau Building, the Prime Minister’s Office Building on Al-Sikka Road, the Ministry of Finance, the Libyan Post Company Building on Al-Zawiya Street, and the Radio Building on Al-Nasr Street).

The committee received these headquarters from the Deterrence Apparatus and the Stability Support Apparatus, while the Interior Ministry announced that it would begin securing these headquarters after receiving them.

On August 25, the Minister of Interior addressed the security forces stationed in the state’s headquarters to quickly evacuate them within 24 hours.

In his speech, Al-Tarabulsi directed the necessity of handing over the headquarters and institutions affiliated with the state to the Tripoli Security Directorate to be secured by the Interior Ministry elements.

The letter was addressed to the authorities stationed in 20 headquarters inside the capital, Tripoli, most notably “Al-Riqata, the railway headquarters, the presidential guard headquarters, and the Cabinet office on the railway road,” in compliance with the Prime Minister’s decision to form a supreme security committee to oversee the security of the capital, Tripoli.

Al-Tarabulsi also circulated to the heads of the Council of Ministers, the Audit Bureau, the Administrative Control and Anti-Corruption Authorities, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya the necessity of cooperating with the Ministry of Interior by handing over, securing, and guarding their headquarters to the Tripoli Security Directorate to replace those currently present.

Al-Tarabulsi had announced the launch of a plan to secure the capital, which consisted of three tracks: the return of all security formations to their headquarters and the evacuation of armed manifestations from them, limiting security gates and checkpoints on the roads to the components of the ministry, in addition to securing the interior ministry elements for the general headquarters and state institutions.
