This is about Margarita Lyavchuk reported in his official Instagram. According to her words, Brest criminal investigation officers came to the parents’ apartment at 6:30 in the morning and questioned them about their daughter. This is not the first time that the security forces have disturbed the parents of the opera singer, who is also known for her participation in duet “Red green” together with Andrey Pavuk — they mocked the regime in their musical mini-performances Lukashenka (the duo broke up recently).

In May 2022, law enforcement officers visited Margarita Lyavchuk’s parents after she was wanted in connection with a criminal case filed against her for “offensive and blasphemous acts against state symbols.” The house was searched, nothing “suspicious” was found, but Margarita’s parents were taken out of the house in handcuffs. For alleged “disobedience” to the security forces – they slowly opened the door – Elena and Alexander Levchukov were fined 70 basic amounts (2240 rubles) each. Security forces came to search the house of Margarita’s partner in the duet “Red Green” Andrew the Spider.

Recently, the security forces have been increasingly actively persecuting relatives and close opponents of the government, especially those who were forced to leave Belarus due to political persecution.

  • Opera singer (soprano) Margarita Lyavchuk (from 2016 to March 2020 – soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, resigned at her own will) is a symbol and voice of protests in 2020.
