Security Placed on Commander of Central Command Major General Yehuda Fox Following Threats

In response to ongoing threats on social media and from far-right activists, security measures have been put in place to protect Major General Yehuda Fox, the commander of the Central Command. The security establishment is concerned that extremist activists may attempt to harm Fox due to his recent efforts to prevent friction between Israeli settlers and Palestinians.

In recent days, a campaign against Fox has gained traction on social media and has led to calls for demonstrations outside of his home. Posters have been distributed calling for the closure of roads to Palestinians and preventing them from entering certain areas.

Following several incidents of friction between settlers and Palestinians, Fox met with settlement leaders last week and emphasized that the majority of settlers do not engage in violence. He stated, “There is no such concept of ‘settler violence’ I say this on many occasions. There are incidents of violence in all kinds of places in Israel.”

The security measures are a response to the escalating threats and concerns for Fox’s safety. The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are being made to ensure the commander’s safety in light of the ongoing campaign against him.
