The Ministry of the Environment (The reason) capital highlighted the training of six generations of women in knowledge of environmental gardening for the creation of pollinating spaceswhich allow them to develop a sustainable economy.
Since 2019, the agency has implemented the program “Gardens for life, Women Pollinators“to contribute to improving environmental conditions in the Ciudad and at the same time offer knowledge, tools and techniques to achieve a developmentpersonal, professional and community.
The participants have contributed to the construction of gardens that provide food and shelter to pollinating species such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds in different parts of the country’s capital, such as in the Chapultepec and San Juan de Aragón forests, parks and median strips, among others.
The The reason He stressed that pollinators are essential to ensure the health of ecosystems, while enabling the production of food, medicines and beverages.
This training also allows these women to access economic and social development, since they can work as gardeners or entrepreneurs of products associated with the pollinating plants; To date, 50 beneficiaries have become entrepreneurs in this field.
