Assassin’s Creed is a game franchise developed by Ubisoft, which tells the story of professional assassins in an ancient rivalry against another group, called the Templars. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (431 a 422 a.C.)
In this first work, we are introduced to an already very conflictive environment that was inspired by some real events in history: the Peloponnesian War, which took place in ancient Greece between the cities of Athens and Sparta. The main focus here is the investigation of a strange sect that is forming, called the Cult of Cosmos. Later, this group will start the rival organization to the Assassins, called the Order of the Templars. Assassin’s Creed Origins (49 a 44 a.C.)
In this game, users are faced with the first official confrontation between the Assassin’s Creed and the Templars. This period is historically marked by conflicts between Cleopatra and Ptolemy XIII.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage (861 a ?)
Recently released, the game introduces us to Basim, a street rogue who is looking for answers after being exposed to terrifying visions. After fleeing Baghdad (capital of Iraq), he joins a mysterious group called The Hidden Ones. This organization will be fundamental in refining his gifts and helping him to reveal his true nature. The narrative takes place in the 9th century in the midst of the Islamic Golden Age.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (872 a 878)
In this story, the player is not part of any of the rival groups (Assassins or Templars), but is directly involved in the conflict between them. The historical period is located shortly after the fall of the Roman Empire, known as the Dark Ages. In the story, we are introduced to Eivor, a Viking warrior who needs to travel with his group from Norway to England.
Assassin’s Creed (1191)
This was the first game released in the franchise and takes place in the city of Jerusalem (capital of Israel), before the occurrence of the third Crusade. The narrative presents Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, an assassin recently expelled from the organization after failing a very important mission. Suspicious, he decides to kill his master, called Al Mualim.
Assassin’s Creed II (1476 a 1499)
The game is one of the best known in the franchise, as the protagonist Ezio Auditore da Firenze is considered one of the fans’ favorite characters. During the Italian Renaissance, the assassin Ezio, who is a descendant of Altaïr, wants to avenge the death of his father and brother. Therefore, throughout famous cities in Italy, such as Venice and Tuscany, he must travel to find and shoot down his target.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (1499 a 1507)
This story is a direct continuation of Ezio’s adventures, in which the protagonist will develop a brotherhood to fight the Borgia. This time, the assassin and his allies alternate between Italy and Spain to reach their target.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (1511 a 1512)
The game closes Ezio’s trilogy in history and presents the character as much older, looking for information and any clue that provides more details about the Assassin’s Creed. To do this, he will arrive at Masyaf’s library, a place that can only be opened with a key –– previously hidden by Altaïr in Constantinople.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (1715 a 1722)
As the title itself suggests, we are now introduced to the era of pirates. The story focuses on the adventures of Edward Kenway, whose objective is to leave England for America in search of a man named Sage. This man holds the location of the Observatory, a region inhabited by characters from a previous human race who track current humans with a crystal skull.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue (1752 a 1760)
The protagonist of this story is Shay Cormac, an assassin whose mission is to travel to Lisbon to recover a very important artifact. There, he is faced with a trauma that changes his life and his perspective, starting to act against his fellow Assassins and in agreement with the Templars. The historical period is the Seven Years’ War, fought between England and France.
Assassin’s Creed III (1754 a 1783)
Connor is the protagonist of this game and is of mixed ethnicity with English and indigenous ancestry. He experiences the period that became known as the American Revolution, a time when the American people demonstrated significant signs of independence. Connor’s mission is to find the men responsible for the destruction of his village and the death of his mother, and murder them in revenge.
Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation (1765 a 1780)
This story takes place at the same time as the previous game, but in another region and with a main character called Aveline de Grandpré. She is descended from a colonist and a slave: she grew up seeing black people suffer all possible types of violence and decides to become a symbol of hope by deciding to fight against this evil, fighting the colonizers and protecting the black and slave population of her city. .
Assassins Creed Unity (1789 a 1794)
The game discusses the Assassins’ involvement in the French Revolution. This game is also marked by the first romantic relationship ever explored in the franchise, which occurs between an Assassin and a Templar.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (1868)
It is the title that showcased the most recent historical period in the history of the game franchise. The narrative takes place during the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, in London, and has as protagonists the brothers Jacob and Evie Frye. Both are tired of the way the English monarchy and the church lose the city to the Templars, so they decide to act to solve this problem.
