The images published on social networks are very impressive. This Saturday evening, around 8:30 p.m., lightning struck a house in Nanteuil-lès-Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) while violent weather hit Ile-de-France. The electric arc caused the fire of the roof which was completely destroyed by the flames.

A section of wall threatening to collapse, two neighboring streets were closed to traffic. Luckily, the inhabitants of the house were absent at the time of the tragedy, as reported by the mayor (SE) of the town, Régis Sarazin.

“It’s a family that has just moved there. It is a couple with children. Fortunately, they were on vacation at the time of the fire. The family will be relocated by relatives who live in Seine-et-Marne. This family that I knew from having gone to meet them and welcome them is in shock. And the mayor concluded: “It really is a disaster. But they escaped the worst. »

Later that evening, the fire was contained by firefighters. The situation was under control. But the roof of the house is completely destroyed. “The family has lost everything: their property, their history, their memories”, concluded, saddened, the chosen one.
