Seine-Maritime: a woman dies hit by a train near a station

Drama in Seine-Maritime. On Wednesday, a woman died after being violently hit by a regional train, upstream from Barentin station, according to information from Paris-Normandy confirmed by BFM Normandie.

A shock at 120 km/h

The terrible accident took place on Wednesday afternoon, around 3:20 p.m. The TER, departing from Le Havre and bound for Paris, had no scheduled stop at Barentin station. He was therefore traveling at his cruising speed, i.e. 120 km / h according to Paris-Normandy, when he hit the victim.

The TER was immobilized for several hours. Traffic was disrupted on the Yvetot-Rouen and Le Havre-Rouen sections, according to SNCF, before returning to normal around 7 p.m.

The 400 people present in the TER at the time of the accident were gradually evacuated. The firefighters clarified with Paris-Normandy that the vulnerable people and the children of the TER were taken care of by a bus chartered by the SNCF.
