San Salvador. Managers from the Ministry of the Interior and Civil Protection Operational Tactical Teams traveled to the municipality of Santo Tomás and Panchimalco due to the seismic activity registered in the last few hours.
The teams approached the inhabitants of both municipalities, given this event that has its origins in geological faults in the area. “We want people to know about this type of seismic activity and how to act in an emergency,” said spokespersons for the managers.
According to technical reports from the Ministry of the Environment, until 11:40 am on September 19, 14 earthquakes were recorded in the aforementioned municipalities. For this reason, the teams of the National Civil Protection System remain in the area, attentive to any emerging situation. The intervention of managers is part of the preventive measures that the government promotes in order to minimize the impact of the phenomena on the population.
