Seizure of 1 tonne of ration rice smuggled to Karnataka | Dynamics

Krishnagiri: Krishnagiri District Food Smuggling Prevention Unit SIs Thennarasu, Gopinath and police conducted a vehicle inspection at the Veppana Halli check post yesterday. A search of the Poliro pickup truck, which was passing by, turned up 40 kg, 30 bundles, 1,200 kg of ration rice. The investigation also revealed that ration rice was bought in the vicinity of Veppanahalli and sold at higher prices in areas including KGF in Karnataka and Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh. Following this, the police arrested Bakrudeen, 23, from Simbanagallu area, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, who was driving the van and confiscated the pick-up van, including ration rice.
