With a swipe to the right you can find new love. This is possible for free with the standard model of the Tinder dating app. If you want more, you have to pay.

In addition to the Plus, Gold or Platinum subscription, there is now Tinder “Select” for $500 a month – a premium platform that is only reserved for the single elite such as celebrities or high-class users.

But there should also be elite dating. Tinder itself writes on its website: “It’s Tinder’s exclusive membership that gives you access to the best of the best on Tinder.”

But what exactly is offered for so much money per month? BILD explains what “Select” can do.

“Select” is intended to make dating easier for its exclusive clientele. This means that normal Tinder users can only send direct messages if they have had a match. “Select” members, on the other hand, can even send two of them to other singles – without them having to react to their “swipe”.

► The “Skip The Line” feature allows other singles to see your profile after you have liked them. Even if they don’t have a subscription.

► Above all, Tinder promises that your profile won’t get lost in the crowd. By displaying it in the “Like” list for seven days, it is intended to ensure increased visibility.

► And so that everyone knows straight away that you belong to the exclusive circle, you can add the “Select” symbol to your profile.

► In order to keep to yourself, you can only find singles in “Select” mode who also have the expensive subscription.

To play here, Tinder invites selected users. And so far only one percent have been able to enjoy this. Those interested can also apply for a luxury subscription. In general, for “Select”, the company’s “5-point selection plan” must be fulfilled.

This means: At least four pictures and five interests must be stated in the profile, the biography must be at least 15 characters long, the “relationship intention” must be clear and the photo must be verified.

And of course you have to agree to shell out $499 (around 470 euros) a month for the exclusive search for singles. That’s around 5,640 euros per year. Tinder has not yet announced any specific prices for Germany. It is not yet possible to apply for “Select”.

By the way, Tinder doesn’t seem to have a problem with the high price. “We know there is a group of highly engaged and active users who value an effective and efficient way to connect,” said product boss Mark Van Ryswyk „Bloomberg“. Accordingly, they collected detailed tests and feedback from this user group and developed a VIP subscription over the course of months.

And Tinder’s parent company, Match Group, knows its way around expensive dating apps. The app “The League,” which is aimed at “ambitious, career-oriented singles,” even costs $1,000 – per week!
