Selensky reportedly spent a lot of time with troops in Luhansk, Ukraine, where fighting is raging. Selensky encouraged the soldiers to go to the cities of Solder and Lisichansk. The report confirming the visit was released shortly after Selensky returned. Britain, meanwhile, has said it will provide more weapons at Ukraine’s request. The UK will provide a state-of-the-art multiple launch rocket system. Ben Wallace, the UK’s defense secretary, said it would help combat long – range artillery fire.
Meanwhile, the US has asked African countries not to buy wheat from Russia. The move follows reports that Russia is trying to sell five million tonnes of wheat smuggled from Ukraine. The U.S. embargo comes after an African Union leader approached Putin seeking help with a food crisis. This has put the African countries in total crisis. Food shortages are severe in many countries, including Senegal.
