PV systems

Written by Rainer Ackermann

Private households will only be able to sell their solar power to the state electricity holding MVM for around 5 forint/kWh.

The business portal portfolio.hu interpreted words from Chancellery Minister Gergely Gulyás at the government press conference to mean that consumers could sell the electricity they do not need for their own needs from their domestic PV system for 13 forints. The minister used the selling price of the Paks nuclear power plant as a basis for comparison. However, when asked by the news portal index.hu, the Ministry of Energy clarified days later that the minister meant the “net price” that the nuclear power plant receives for its electricity in the basic supply. This officially fixed tariff amounts to around 5 forints, the actual price paid by end consumers of around 36 forints/kWh is plus various network fees and taxes.
