Six students from the military school of Madagascar (SEMIPI) will participate this Friday in the military parade which will take place on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, as part of the celebration of the French national holiday. They will parade under the command of Colonel Alain Bernardin Rafidison, commander of this school.
SEMIPI was invited like five other African military high schools, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Congo, Benin, Gabon, all former French colonies.
In 2010, Madagascar had already sent troops for the July 14 parade in Paris.
In a delicate political context, the participation of these students from the military school in this parade can be interpreted in a thousand and one ways. But it is obvious that it nevertheless participates in the international influence of this school which prepares young Malagasy to integrate the great officer training schools, in the country or abroad.
