The Senate Constitution and Justice Committee approved today (4) the proposed amendment to the Constitution that allows the sale of blood plasma. The idea has provoked controversy because it could interfere with blood donations across the country. The text still goes to the Senate plenary. Plasma is used in the manufacture of so-called blood products, medicines that combat diseases such as hemophilia, cancer and immunodeficiency, among others.
