“Unfortunately, Senator Rojo Edwards was unable to enter Venezuela and has been deported by the regime,” they reported from their surroundings.
“The senator arrived in Caracas at 5:50 p.m. on an official Senate mission and upon his arrival the Venezuelan authorities denied him entry into the country,” they added.
“The Venezuelan dictatorship did not let us in, but Venezuelans should know that from Chile and around the world we will continue to defend freedom and human rights because they deserve it,” Rojo Edwards later said on board a plane, after being denied entry into the country.
He added that “Nothing the dictatorship does will make us give up in this effort to defend them. Chile is with you, all of Latin America is with you,” which was followed by applause from the passengers.
The same thing happened with Senator Felipe Kast (Evópoli), who commented through his X account that “they just informed us that they are deporting us, simply because we do not meet the profile to enter the country, there is not a single document, totally arbitrary.”
“This shows that all the words of some who say that this is a democracy are simply a big lie,” he added.
